A significant part of the territory of Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, SOE includes important water areas with I. - III. Degree of protection. Many watercourses are sources of drinking water, which makes sense due to the strategic importance of water. The importance will continue to increase in the future. In these areas, Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, SOE, provides water management in accordance with water management and environmental regulations. The Company repairs and maintains the facilities of forest and land improvements and stream dikes.
Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, SOE manages 681 km of watercourses, particularly small streams, and 57 ha of ponds. The length of the fishing districts is 150 km with an area of 32 ha. For restocking, they plant 56,000 pieces of stocks per year. For the market fishery, they supply 2 tonnes of fish and for sport fishery, it is about 1.1 tonnes of fish.
The best conditions for fishery and duck breeding are in the branch office in Malacky, where the two systems of ponds are used to breed and reproduce the fish. The first system - Rakáreňská system consists of four ponds with an area of 40.75 hectares and the second system - Marhečská system consists of seven ponds with an area of 5.69 hectares.

In the semi – intensification ponds, the production is based on feeding the pond stocks mainly with cereals.
The basic herd of wild duck – “Marchesse”, is located on grove "Kopča", which comprises about 200 ducks and 80 drakes. There are placed incubators and aviaries for ducklings. The annual egg production is about 10,000 pieces. Annual production of ducklings is approximately 3,700 stocks. About 2800 ducklings from the annual production is released to the pond to be hunted in a common hunt.
The main farmed species is the Common Carp. In addition, the pond stock also includes other species, such as: perch, pike, catfish, tench, Grass Carp. These species are supplementary fish and serve to increase the fertility of ponds and their yield per hectare.
Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, SOE branch plant Malacky uses two fishing grounds for sport fishing. The first is called Rašeliny Prievaly and consists of five ponds with a total area of 33.20 hectares. The second fishing district called Marheček n.21 consists of one pond with an area of 3.66 hectares. Both grounds are suitable for fishing, and they are cyprinid waters.
Fishing in the ponds is allowed only with a valid fishing ticket. Tickets are sold in branch office Malacky.
The state-owned enterprise (SOE) with the seat in Pliešovce was founded after the splitting of Czechoslovakia in 1993. The company was established to saturate the needs for the effective and ecological forest and farmland management on the military training areas of Slovakia. The company manages the area of 65 431 ha of forest land with an annual timber extraction of about 300,000 m3. State-owned enterprise (SOE) consists of Directorate General and three branch offices based in Malacky, Kezmarok and Kamenica nad Cirochou.
