To preserve the he gene pool as well as to restore and expand the forest, all recognized resources are used; selected trees and specific gene pools included. These resources are irreplaceable especially in preserving closely specified gene pool, such as pinewoods at drifting sands area in Záhorie. The most valuable parts of softwood gene pool are stored in the seed bank of woody plants /Semenoles o.z. Liptovský Hrádok/.
114 ha of plant nurseries and gardens are used for the annual production of 5.5 million of planting pieces. Artificial forest recovery is provided on 600 ha per year in all forest vegetation zones including planting of riparian vegetation and anti-avalanches afforestation in the upper zone of the forest. A unique comprehensive system of soil preparation using mechanized afforestation in arid areas with extreme climatic conditions helps us to achieve excellent results by planting one-year conifer seedlings.
The enormous attention is paid not only to the artificial forest regeneration but also to the natural self-reproducing forest regeneration as it is also an important factor comprising all beneficial effects, the economical one included. The best results are achieved in typical beech wood area of Vihorlat.
Z času na čas zíďte z vyšliapaného chodníka a straťte sa v lese. Môžete si byť istí, že nájdete čosi, čo ste predtým nikdy nevideli.
