HuntingSeason and the exercise of the right to hunt is secured as a performance of work tasks in military forests within military districts, territories necessary and serving for ensuring the tasks of state defense and territories under the administration of MFE SR, SOE, i.e. in areas with an area of more than 60,000 hectares. The main task is to take care of game, the implementation of all planned measures, such as regular surveys of game, fulfilment of breeding and hunting plans, in order to achieve the correct age and sexual structure.

In localities with high usability of hunting grounds and suitable conditions for the development and reproduction of ratites, hunting management has long focused on reducing the number of overgrown ratites by intervening in non-trophy game, that is, females and the young, while adhering to the principles of selective hunting and hunting ethics. By reducing the number of the ratites and their targeted selection, the breeding of qualitatively suitable individuals and the reduction of the risk of transmission of various diseases, is ensured. The risk of the diseases increases with increasing population density. Measures are being taken actively and intensively to prevent the spread of African swine fever.
